Character History

Abandoned on the footsteps of a dojo dedicated to the Kiyomasa style of martial arts, Renji was destined to live life by the sword. He was raised to be the perfect swordsman and showed a natural aptitude for the blade. However as the young practitioner grew into his teenage years he became arrogant. Having surpassed his peers in every measurable aspect he demanded access to the greatest techniques that the Kiyomasa style offered. His master, noticing his pupil’s lack of humility, denied this request. In a fit of rage Renji struck out at his master, and was handedly defeated by the wizened swordsman. Having not only besmirched his honor, but also being humiliated the orphan took flight. He ran into a nearby forest to lick his wounds and gather his thoughts.

Many days were spent lost in that forest, so many that Renji had lost count. Now severed from the relative comfort of the dojo he found himself unable to survive. Starvation took its toll and the young boy become a delirious husk of himself, wandering through the woods waiting for the embrace of death. As he stumbled through the forest he was drawn to a stream, the water called to him and beckoned for him to follow upstream. At the head of the river was a waterfall and behind this waterfall was a cavern long since forgotten. It was a man-made structure, but the men that made it were long since forgotten. It was here that the boy found the wicked Ouroboros Blade.

Created as a prison for the pernicious demon known as Kuzuru the Ouroboros Blade proved to be an irresistible temptation for the boy. As he grasped the scarlet hilt his body was rejuvenated and his mind focused to a razor’s edge. Thousands of battles dating back to the dawn of mankind were imprinted onto his mind and he became an unparalleled expert at combat. As most good things do, this came with a cost. His soul became tethered to the blade and all of its inhabitants, including the demon Kuzuru. The demon spoke sweet whispers into his ear and filled his brain with saccharine thoughts of grandeur. With the Ouroboros Blade in hand not only could he become the greatest swordsman that ever lived, but also the greatest warrior. Every soul offered to the blade would not only increase his skill but also extend his lifespan, effectively turning him into an immortal.

Blade in hand and a literal devil on his shoulder the boy turned back towards his dojo and slaughtered every last one of them. For centuries he moved from battle to battle, carving an ever-growing swath of carnage.

A Prison of Souls

The Blade of Lost Souls, known by its creator as the “Ourobouros Blade”, serves as both a prison and a powerful weapon. Originally forged to contain the rapacious demon of war known as Kuzuru. However this soul binding came at a terrible cost, while the demon was trapped within the blade he was not completely subdued. The sword become a sort of "soul sponge" and absorbed the soul of anyone that was unfortunate enough to be felled by its blade. Without a host the demon inside will call out to nearby warriors and offer them immortality and unparalleled skill in return for their soul, a deal that all too many gladly accept.

Over time this constant bloodshed has resulted in the blade acquiring a tempest of souls. While the majority have lost their individuality a few particularly strong souls can maintain their identity. Before the Omniverse this individuality never more than the occasional voice inside Renji's head, but now the sword's ability to contain these souls has been diminished greatly and the most spirited of souls can take temporary control of the poor man's body.

Kuzuru
[Image: avatar_124.jpg?dateline=1482452276]

Less of an individual and more a force of nature, Kuzuru was birthed the moment primordial man dashed his brother's head open with a rock. The demon exists as the culmination of every act of bloodshed or violence mankind has ever wrought upon itself. In an attempt to squelch his affect on mankind he was imprisoned with the Ouroboros Blade.

Thanks to the magic of omnilium he was able to reconstruct the very nature of his prison and switch places with Renji.

At heart Kuzuru is a showman and will go out of his way to turn things into a spectacle, after all there's only so many ways you can kill a man before the whole thing becomes a bit boring. He chases novelty and often picks up various hobbies to try and entertain himself, unfortunately bloodshed seems to be the only thing he is competent at as he is seemingly unable to become proficient at anything besides combat. He is rather sociopathic, only caring for people as one would care for property. He sees the Omniverse as the ultimate playground, a conglomeration of the strongest warriors just ready to be conquered.

Renji Kiyomasa
[Image: 63a20136075a81023744e4dcfe3f6d7213355564...1337621106]

Born an orphan and adopted by a dojo dedicated to the Kiyomasa style of swordplay, Renji is the current wielder of the wicked Ourobouros Blade. Raised by skilled swordsman Renji quickly adopted a warrior lifestyle. An incessant desire for perfection in every aspect of his training led to him becoming a star pupil. Every breath and every action was taken to further his progression as a splendid swordsman. The young Renji Kiyomasa, having taken the swordstyle as his family name, became the greatest student among his hundred man class, a feat which was no small accomplishment. One day, growing somewhat arrogant, Renji challenged his master to a duel, confident in his ability to beat the old man. The fight lasted all of three seconds, with a blindingly fast strike Renji’s master had disarmed him and scored what would have been a lethal blow had they not been using practice blades. After suffering an embarrassing defeat in front of his peers, the dejected swordsman ran into a nearby forest to lick his metaphorical wounds.

Inside the forest Renji felt an almost imperceptible pull towards an almost hidden cavern deep within. Smooth, wet walls formed a dome and in the center a shaft of light pierced the center of the cave. Inside, illuminated by the aforementioned shaft of light, sat a polished pillar of stone, and on top of the pillar sat a katana sheathed in a blood-red scabbard. Renji carefully shuffled through ankle deep water towards the weapon. His blood chilled. Upon gripping the blade the young boy felt an impossible surge of strength. The hot shame of his previous defeat was washed away with the sudden clarity that the blade offered, and to keep it he only had to trade away his freedom. This deal he gladly accepted binding his soul to the weapon, and subsequently the demon hiding within. With his new-found power Renji returned to his dojo and slaughtered every last member, unable to resist the intoxicating bloodlust that he now felt.

Rou Maxwell
[Image: a06f11a7ff2f3c6e6ac28933910cf77d.jpg]

The very first wielder of the cursed Ourobouros blade and the first wielder to be swallowed by its wicked powers. Rou stumbled upon the cursed weapon during a grand battle, one in which he was merely a foot soldier. Caught on the wrong end of a cavalry charge Rou was mortally wounded and left to bleed out. Around him the din of battle raged and all he could feel was the cold grip of death. It was with what should have been his final breath that time seemed to freeze around him. Almost as if stepping between dimensions he entered a fugue state. His body was weightless and without effort he climbed to his feet. Before him towered a red-skinned demon, clutching a red-hilted blade and offering a second chance at life. Without a second thought he accepted the bargain and agreed to be the first true wielder of the Ourobouros Blade. As if someone had pressed “play” on a video recording the battle resumed and Rou was left with the wicked blade in his grip. The scent of blood and the sight of carnage illicited a primal reaction from the lazarusian soldier. It was on this day that he became a god of war, wading through his enemies like a butcher carved through carcasses. Overnight he became a tireless avatar bent on bloodletting, a demon of war.

It is unclear as to how his reign ended, but a few things are certain. One, he was killed by his own blade, and that he lived for several eons before his death. Now he serves as a pragmatic guide within the prison, offering Renji advice from time-to-time.

Kuzuru

PERSONALITY

Fearless - Kuzuru fears nothing, this body is not his own and he even sees the threat of banishment as just another avenue to more bloodshed.

Ruthless - He usually can't be reasoned or bartered with, if he is set on an objective he will stop at nothing to complete it.

Bloodthirsty - Money, sex, and drugs do little to abate the demon's lust for carnage.

Talentless - Kuzuru has many creative hobbies including painting and playing the guitar, however no matter how much he practices he is unable to improve at anything besides combat.

Braggadocious - Loud and confident Kuzuru has no shortage of pride or arrogance.

His experience in battle allows him to move effortlessly through it, performing stunts that most would deem suicidal.

Foresight
Not necessarily an omniscient glimpse into the future, but rather a learned understanding of body language and a hyper-focused set of senses.

Enhanced Senses
Kuzuru's nose is hyper-sensitive and he accurately can detect and locate any being within a short radius.

All demons have the latent ability to pry into minds of others. However, Kuzuru's telepathy is limited and weak compared to most mentalists.

Moves Available to Kuzuru

Demon Blades (300) (Requires Physical Strength)

Being a demon of battle Kuzuru is able to sprout blades from his body. These blades are around four feet long and remain attached to his skin. They can sprout from anywhere and take only a few seconds to form, but they cannot form if something is actively covering them (i.e. if he is grappled or wrapped in something like a tight net he cannot create blades underneath the grappler or net to cut them). He can create a maximum of four blades at a time, and they must be reabsorbed into his body before he can create them in different locations, the reabsorption is about as fast as summoning them. There are two types of blades he can create curved and straight. Curved blades are better at slashing and straight blades are better at stabbing. They are generally weaker than equivalent swords and can shatter if put under too much duress.

Demon Guillotine (300) (Requires Physical Strength)

After a few seconds a thick and heavy blade sprouts from one of Kuzuru’s forearms. It runs from elbow to wrist and juts outwards about four inches. The guillotine is quite heavy and is cumbersome to wield. The weight forces his arm to hang limp at his side and only through slow telegraphed movements can he swing the weapon with any force. Despite the downsides should he manage to score a solid hit with the guillotine   the results would be devastating. It takes only a few moments to desummon the blade, but while it is active he is unable to use his “Demon Blades” move.

Battle Sense (300) (Requires Foresight, Burst Movement)

Having survived thousands of battles across hundreds of years Renji is incredibly attuned to the nuances of a fight. Using his immense knowledge of battle and the demonic energy of the Blade of Lost Souls Renji is able to deflect or parry incoming attacks, even energy-based attacks and magic. Every fifteen seconds Renji can deflect or block an incoming attack with a well-execute slash.

Timeless Body (300) (Requires Physical Strength)

Having practiced and honed his craft for an eternity Renji's body has been turned into a weapon. He can strike out with any part of his body and augment the strike with a mix of demonic energy and his own ki. This ability grows weaker over the course of a fight as he grows tired and loses energy.

Demon Chain (900) (Requires Ranged Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency)

A slit opens up in Kuzuru’s palm and a cylindrical weight attached to a length of chain unspools out. It takes about three seconds for the chain to reach the usable length of five feet. From here it can freely extend and retract up to a maximum length of thirty feet. He can swing the weighted chain around to strike at foes up to thirty feet away, grapple exposed limbs or weapons, and defend against physical attacks by blocking with a length of the chain or smacking a projectile out of the air. Grappling and blocking tend to be more difficult to pull off, especially at farther ranges. While active Kuzuru cannot use his Demon Guillotine move and is only has access to two of his four Demon Blades. Additionally the chain itself, while durable, is not impervious to damage and a sufficiently strong attack can shatter it. It takes about three seconds to completely reel the chain back in, regardless of its current length.

Alternatively Kuzuru can focus for five seconds, during which he cannot attack easily. After the five seconds of charge up he can throw his hand out towards a target. Ten weighted chains erupt outwards in a net-like pattern towards a target up to 30 feet. These chains wrap around limbs and anything else they can snare. The chains reel themselves in, assisted by Kuzuru’s own strength. A target can wriggle free using any manner of powers or moves such as malleability or phasing. The chains, while durable, can be broken with a strong enough attack. A strong enough opponent can fight back against Kuzuru’s pull. These chains will last indefinitely, but they are quite tiring to maintain especially against a strong opponent. While active Kuzuru cannot use Demon Guillotine and only has access to one of his four Demon Blades. Once expended Kuzuru must spend five seconds reeling the chains in during which he can move freely, but cannot attack easily.

Demon Needles (300) (Requires Ranged Proficiency)

Kuzuru inhales deeply for about three seconds, swelling his chest and upper body slightly beyond human proportions. He then forcefully exhales, firing a shotgun-like barrage of needles at a target up to an effective distance of 25 meters. The further away the target is the greater the spread of needles. Each needle is about five inches in length and serves to annoy and cause pain rather than injure. There is no cooldown and can be fired in succession, but repeated use is quite draining and will leave Kuzuru winded and tired.

Menace (300) (Requires Debuff Proficiency, Physical Strength, Telepathy)

Those who wield the Ouroboros blade, and the demon lurking inside, naturally ooze a malicious aura. Weak-willed individuals generally feel a sense of unease or, in the most severe of cases, outright fear when near Kuzuru. However most people are more or less unaffected by this aura. Should Kuzuru be attacked by a melee strike he can increase the intensity of this aura and potentially dissuade the attacker. This can only affect the same person once per fight. Once the attacker is within five meters of Kuzuru and is moving in for a strike he can choose to activate this move. The attacker is suddenly filled with a crippling sense of dread and is intimidated into breaking off the attack and disengaging to collect themselves. This terror quickly dissipates and the attacker is free to act as normal. There is no charge-up time and the fatigue cost is nearly nonexistent. Those who are able to read Kuzuru with Insight, Telepathy, or Foresight are able to call his bluff and can attack as normal. Additionally those with higher TEC than Kuzuru are able to strike as normal. This move can be used by both Renji and Kuzuru.

Weapons of War (300) (Requires Physical Strength, Buff Proficiency)

Using the same black iron that comprises his natural weaponry Kuzuru is able to forge more conventional weapons for his allies. Kuzuru extends his hand and over the course of five seconds a sword made from black iron worms its way free from beneath the skin on his palm. The sword's blade can range from 35 to 40 inches long with a hilt ranging from 8 to 10 inches long; whatever is most comfortable for the sword's eventual wielder. Its shape is reminiscent to that of a standard European longsword with a straight double-edged blade made from black metal. Kuzuru can create up to ten of these weapons. Kuzuru will not use these blades himself as he finds them unwieldly compared to his natural weapons, he will however give them to an ally in need. As long as the weapon stays within 50 feet of Kuzuru it will not degrade, however should it leave this radius it will eventually crumble to dust after an hour has passed.

Super Moves Available to Kuzuru

Echoes of the Slaughtered (600) (Requires Spiritual Attunement, Telepathy) Utility Tier One Super Move

Acting as a conduit for souls, especially those that have died violent deaths, the Ouroboros Blade can allow the wielder to interact with the deceased. Should Kuzuru or Renji find themselves in an area where somebody has died they can temporarily bring back the soul of the departed. They must spend one SP and meditate for fifteen minutes, during which they cannot move and any significant distraction will restart the timer. At the end of this time they enter a fugue state and become nearly catatonic for five minutes. During this time they become unable to perceive the outside world and instead it appears as if time has frozen. In reality they have simply entered a deep meditative state and to an outside observer seem to be simply mumbling to themselves. Once they enter this state they can speak with the spirit of anyone that died a violent death within an area of 50 meters. At the end of five minutes or if they are awakened from meditation the effect immediately ends. They can choose to expend one more SP to extend the time to ten minutes, but once the connection is broken they are unable to ever contact the same spirit again.

Barbed Trap (600) (Requires Area Attack Proficiency) Utility Tier One Super Move

After focusing for a few moments Kuzuru holds up both of his arms and long strands of barbed wire spool out from beneath his skin. These metal wires wrap around Kuzuru and one other combatant, forming a cocoon. After a few seconds the wires expand outwards rapidly, eventually expanding outwards in a circle with a diameter of up to 50 meters. The metal wires twist themselves around terrain features and form a barrier that is about 15 meters high. These wires deteriorate quickly and Kuzuru must spend a considerable amount of energy to maintain them. Trying to climb the wires or squeeze through them proves to be almost impossible as the barbs snag and grab anyone attempting to get past them. Anyone with powers or moves that allow them to subvert the physical barrier (phasing, advanced super jumping, flight, etc) can join the fight, but this otherwise allows Kuzuru to have an uninterrupted duel. Due to Omniphysics he can only target those that he intends to fight, so he can’t use it to protect allies. The move is incredibly taxing and requires Kuzuru to spend 2 SP per round to maintain it. Should Kuzuruwd be defeated or otherwise unable to maintain the barrier it rusts and crumbles to dust.

Demon Lotus (600) (Requires Physical Strength, Enhanced Senses, Foresight) Defensive Tier One Super Move

Renji is unable to activate the Demon Lotus consciously. Instead the demon that possesses his body is on constant vigilance, ready to take temporary control over Renji's body in order to protect him. Should the demon notice an incoming super move, it'll take control of Renji's body and defend against the attack. Hundreds of large blades erupt from Renji in the direction of the attack, creating a lotus pattern with the center ready to absorb the blast. Melee attackers will be damaged by the blades should they charge into them. Ranged attacks are absorbed and refracted from the demonic blades and the attack rendered harmless. After defending against the attack, the blades retract and Renji is returned to control of his body. Similiar to this.

Demon Scent (600) (Requires Enhanced Senses, Vita Compass) Utility Tier One Super Move

Kuzuru’s sense of smell is far above the average humans, normally this allows him to keep tabs on everyone in his vicinity based on smell alone. However, should he become fixated on hunting a singular target, he can focus his bloodhound-like nose to track said individual. All that is required is a bit of his target’s blood which he must inhale. The blood used for this must either be fresh or have been preserved well. Once he inhales his target’s blood he loses the ability to detect anything through his enhanced senses except for his them. He is able to detect his target out to a maximum range of five miles and the effects last for one hour, after which another bit of blood must be inhaled. This hyper-focus is taxing on the demon and he must expend one SP. Blood doesn’t necessarily need to be used, and any life-giving substance may be used such as oil for a robot or mana for an elemental.

Demon Spear (800) (Requires Physical Strength) Offensive Tier Two Super Move

Kuzuru raises his palm towards his target. After about a second a twisted and grooved spear of steel erupts from the center of his palm. The spear rockets forward as it grows longer and longer, piercing through almost anything in its path. Once it reaches around twelve feet in length it stops growing. The corrugated shaft of metal stays attached to Kuzuru’s palm and after a few seconds it is absorbed back into his body. The base of the spear is about three to four inches in diameter and narrows to a half-inch diameter at the tip.

Mark of the Demon (800) (Requires Buff Proficiency) Utility Tier Two Super Move

Kuzuru coats his thumb with a bit of his own blood. He then presses his thumb against the forehead of a willing ally. After a few seconds the mark begins to glow crimson as the target is inundated with the memories of dead warriors. Through these memories Kuzuru’s ally is able to hold their own in close-quarters combat as if they had years of martial arts experience. For three rounds Kuzuru’s ally gains +1 Tec, with the final round granting +2 TEC as they finally get a solid grasp of the sudden influx of foreign thoughts. Additionally they gain access to the Physical Strength proficiency allowing them access to basic martial prowess. After three rounds the mark disintegrates and the memories fade away.

Moves Available to Renji

Ouroboros Blade (300) (Requires Physical Strength)

A katana measuring about 40 inches overall, with 12 being the hilt and handle while the remaining 28 inches form the blade. The handle is wrapped in a scarlet strip of cloth, with the tail of this cloth hanging a few inches off the bottom. This cursed blade allows Renji to communicate with the demon Kuzuru and the other souls trapped within. While Renji is skilled in his own right the majority of his battle prowess is linked to the blade and if he is separated from it his strength greatly diminishes. With the blade Renji's fighting style is fluid and dynamic, preferring to dodge or redirect incoming attacks while waiting for a vulnerability to expose itself.

Metal-plated Sandals (300) (Requires Physical Strength)

Renji wears a pair of Japanese geta (wooden sandals) on his feet. These sandals have been fitted with several metal strips on the soles. These metal plates allow Renji to block incoming physical attacks. They also slightly increase the strength behind his kicks at the cost of speed.

ATK - 4
DEF - 1
SPD - 3

Renji skewers himself with his own sword, allowing the demon within the Ouroboros Blade to consume him. His body becomes bulkier and more athletic while his skin takes on a ruddy hue. Kuzuru is much more aggressive than his human counterpart and revels in bloodshed and calamity. While bloodthirsty he is not an idiot and is proven to be quite clever. Despite this he can be quite reckless with his body, because it really isn't his at the end of the day. Once Renji allows Kuzuru to take control it is quite difficult for him to regain control over his own body and will often stay in this form for weeks or months at a time. In this form Renji has access to a different set of moves and powers, this is spelled out in-depth in his roster.

- Must be willing to kill other players and/or potentially banish them. We'll mainly be going for kills, but if someone hires us to banish we'd have no qualms with following through.

- Be courteous OOC when hunting. We'll be going around killing other PCs and generally being jerks, but OOC we should be reasonable when issuing challenges/fighting people.

- In order to avoid drama, be willing to communicate with your quarry OOC and notify them when you are going to be hunting them. If they don't want to fight it is your discretion on whether or not you want to crash their party, but naturally you must follow the PvP/Hunting rules.

- You can join other factions, but if we come to hunt one of your fellow faction members we expect you to be at least neutral in the conflict. (This one is more of an IC requirement than anything, you can break it, but you'd be excommunicated from the Ashen Blades.)

- Must be at least level 2

- Must complete the "Prove Your Worth" faction quest, or otherwise be accepted personally by Kuzuru.

- Must be willing to join a blood pact IC with the other members

Command Structure: The Ashen Blades are a tight-knit brotherhood of warriors. While it is generally agreed upon that no single blade outweighs the others, they do have a loose command chain. Generally, each member is allowed to pursue his or her own goals, so long as they do not interfere with the clan's goals.

Chain of Command
Founder - Kuzuru(Renji Kiyomasa)
Captains - Dawn Snow
Lieutenants - Mallory (NPC)
Blades - Claptrap, Cinder Salt (NPC), Miranda Frost, Charles (NPC)
Prospective Members - Ada Wong, Sasuke Uchiha

Base Description
[Image: b074ce116941142c8652d337f0fb36a7.jpg]

Carved into the side of a mountain, the Ashen Fortress serves as a base of operations for the mercenary group known as The Ashen Blades. The mountain itself is nestled in a far corner of the Ashen Steppes, situated between a series of semi-dormant volcanos and other mountains. From a distance one would be hard pressed to distinguish it from its kin. Up close, however, one might noticed the serpent-like pathway slithering up the face of the mountain, terminating at a flat landing about halfway up. A rectangular slab of stone, emblazoned with The Ashen Blade’s crest, serves as the only entrance and exit. If presented with the palm print of a Blade member, hidden machinations will spring to life and the slab will slide open to reveal the inner sanctum.

A long and narrow hallway slopes downward into the belly of the mountain. This redrock hallway leads to atrium that serves as a common area for the faction. About as big as a moderately sized bar the common area houses all the amenities a bounty hunter could want. A large flat screen television, surrounded by furniture, sits against one wall while a full-sized pool table occupies one corner. One wall serves as a digital touchscreen, through which Blades can track bounties, missions, and any other pertinent information. Lastly an open-air kitchen sits in the corner, ready to feed a small army.

From here one can take a hallway that leads to a series of about ten bedrooms, half of which are vacant. Or one can take a spiraling staircase which leads deeper into the mountain. Following this staircase will eventually take you to a large room. At the center of this room stands an ornate fountain filled with blood. A pedestal in the shape of a man’s hand rises from the center and grips an auburn-hued orb. This bloodwell invigorates nearby Ashen Blades. At the very bottom of the complex, accessible by a lift, a pair of geothermal generators harvest the Steppes natural heat and convert it into enough electricity to power the fortress.

Base Access: Renji, Dawn Snow, Miranda Frost, Claptrap

Base Improvements: Tier One Fortifications, Recall Station, Teleporter (Coruscant), Teleporter (The Pale Moors)

Faction Quests:

Prove Your Worth
Requirements - Must be at least level 2
Difficulty: Moderate (5000-10000 words, dependent on writing quality)
Reward - 100 OM + acceptance into The Ashen Blades

Not just any scrub with a sword can join The Ashen Blades. Prospective members must prove themselves to the faction. A blade's worth is measured by their strength, those that lack a ruthless and lethal edge are not welcome within The Ashen Blades. Those that wish to join must perform a simple task -- successfully hunt and eliminate a mark on the bounty board. Do this, and provide proof of your deed, and Kuzuru will welcome you into the faction with open arms, as well as a small monetary reward. Your target can be an NPC of your choice. If your target is a PC you can eliminate the word count as well as participate in the "Hunt Their Blood" quest.
Hunt Their Blood
Requirements - Be affiliated with The Ashen Blades
Reward - 100 OM + reputation within The Ashen Blades

Blood is a most potent narcotic for the demon Kuzuru, and the blood of a strong warrior is the sweetest of all. Although he prefers to spill the red stuff on his own, he is able to vicariously enjoy the fruits of someone else's slaughter. He is willing to pay any blade a moderate amount of omnilium should they be able to strike down a prime and return with a vial of their blood. The blade must also provide proof that he/she slayed a prime and did not just bring him pig's blood. A dataverse video would be perfect, but other methods of proof are acceptable. This quest is repeatable and cannot be completed if Kuzuru assisted in killing the target. If multiple members attempt the quest as a group the OM reward will be split among them.
Black Book Hunting
Requirements - Be affiliated with The Ashen Blades
Reward - 50 OM + your choice of 1 of the 4 basic food pills (Protein, Iron, Carbos, Calcium) OR 1 Power Pill

During his time in the Omniverse Kuzuru has stumbled across a number of people who he finds absolutely enthralling. Unfortunately enthralling means that he wants nothing more than to see them killed -- more so than anyone else. Should you hunt one of these people down, slay them, and provide proof of their demise (preferably a video) Kuzuru will reward you handsomely. This quest will stack with any other quest offered by The Ashen Blades. However there is no reward if Kuzuru assists in killing the target. If multiple members complete this quest the reward will be converted to flat OM and split among them. The list of eligible targets is updates as Kuzuru interacts with more denizens of the Omniverse and currently consists of the following.
  • Luci
  • Morene Fellon
  • The Humble Sage
  • Omni
Conquest Beyond Measure
Requirements - Be affiliated with The Ashen Blades
Reward - 500 OM + reputation within The Ashen Blades

Power comes through conquest, or so says the ashen creed. Objects with inordinate amount of power known as artefacts litter the world and are wasted in the hands of peace-loving hippies. They most certainly would be put to better use by The Ashen Blades, if not for power then for a status symbol. Kuzuru will handsomely reward any blade that manages to wrest control of an artefact from another prime. The blade must be able to prove that he/she killed another prime to retrieve the artefact and did not simply find it hiding under a rock, after all, true conquest only comes through bloodshed. This quest is repeatable and cannot be completed if Kuzuru assisted in killing the target. If multiple members attempt the quest as a group the OM reward will be split among them. If the slain prime is carrying multiple artefacts, only one may be redeemed for the quest.

Mathaziel
[Image: afc8f01cfb3c362ad92cb27d96b3f53d--dark-f...t-1.md.jpg]

Kuzuru's progenitor, the Demon of Desires, Mathaziel exists in a very limited state within the Omniverse. In his original world Mathaziel exists as a largely nebulous entity, tempting mankind and feeding on their desires. After mankind was filled with desire they turned to violence, gluttony, and a host of other sins which gave birth to Kuzuru and his kin. Perhaps in fate's greatest twist of irony Mathaziel always resented his progeny, eternally desiring their power despite being unable to grasp it. Summoned by Kuzuru and chained with a geas that allowed Kuzuru absolute control over his life he was given an ultimatum - serve Kuzuru or die. The choice was easy. Due to his cunning and intelligent nature he serves as Kuzuru's political advisor, helping him to manipulate the Omniverse as a whole. Able to shapeshift and play any role needed Mathaziel's greatest strength comes from the host of deceptive abilities that he possesses.

Tips for writing as Mathaziel
  • Mathaziel's natural manner of speaking is somewhat dated, but he is able to adopt the appropriate accents and mannerisms of any role he is trying to play.
  • Not afraid to lie, cheat, and/or steal Mathaziel's strength lies in his shapeshifting ability.
  • Largely a non-combatant Mathaziel prefers to pit enemies against each other or, in a worst-case scenario, against his own allies rather than fight himself.
  • There is no remorse or empathy in this demon's heart, but he is able to fake it quite convincingly if the situation calls for it.

Cinder Salt

Current leader of the Coyotles, a tribe of anthropomorphic coyotes. Originally a member of the lowly warrior caste Cinder’s life was dedicated to protecting the tribe. She carried this duty with a silent solemnity, fully aware that she was regarded as nothing more than a body to be thrown against a threat. Eventually she was forced to flee when a pair of bounty hunters came looking for her, hoping to cash in on an Empire bounty. Kuzuru intervened and saved her with the intention of killing her himself. She surrendered to him and asked him to train her under the idea that she wouldn’t be a proper match for him without training. Seeing novelty in training his potential killer Kuzuru happily obliged. With her and the aforementioned bounty hunters Kuzuru formed The Ashen Blades.

When Nebula attacked The Ashen Steppes a sizeable force was sent to destroy the Coyotle tribe. Cinder Salt abandoned her fellow blades in favor of protecting her tribe. Her intervention proved to be their saving grace, but the cost proved to be too great. In the attack the Coyotle’s spiritual leader, Ahanu, was slain along with the tribe’s elders. With no spiritual guidance and comprised almost entirely of surviving members of the warrior caste Cinder Salt appointed herself as their leader. She now seeks to return to Kuzuru in hopes that he can train them all to be able to defend themselves in the future.

Tips for Writing as Cinder Salt
  • Cinder speaks plainly and says what she means and means what she says.
  • She is a ruthless fighter, prefering to strike fast rather than engage in idle chit-chat with her opponents.
  • Around most people she puts up a defensive wall, staying stoic and professional.
