-+ Powers & Abilities +-

Ranged Proficiency: Having grown up in the very "do it yourself" landscape of Skyrim, Skadi learned to wield a bow at a very young age in order for her to hunt and help the family survive. This ranged skill only proved useful when she started to pick up on the more arcane talents she possessed. This being said, she's used to having to take things on from a distance. While using a bow, she will attempt to take out vital areas as soon as possible - the uncovered eye, bare neck or abdomen. She will conserve arrows if she can help it. She will always try to stay back to assess the situation before making any approaches.

Physical Proficiency: Even though she typically tries to handle situations from a good distance away, she is no stranger to having to get in close and use melee weapons or even her own fists. When in melee combat she tries to act quickly, focusing on vital areas on the body that she can get to - be they joints, ligaments or where an important artery runs. She's not much for toying with her targets. She strikes hard and fast; and with her particular profession, she revels in dissecting her targets as efficiently as possible.

Debuff Proficiency: Having mastered the usage of calling forth weapons from the planes of Oblivion, and having spent several years studying magicks related to Frost and the Cold, one could call her a budding master at inflicting lasting damage on her opponents. She specializes almost exclusively in Frost magic, and most of her weapons and spells inflict some form of this damage.

Ranged Materialize Proficiency: Skadi has spent many years of her life studying the magic school of Conjuration. As such, she can easily summon creatures, constructs and enact her attacks at a distance, often startling opponents who don't expect such things or know her fighting style all too well.

ATK: 2 - Having trained her strength a good deal, she's better at doing damage to her opponents than the average joe.
DEF: 4 - Skadi wears tank-like heavy armor typically, and as such, she can be like a miniature fortress.
SPD: 1 - Skadi has traded speed and mobility for security. Even in her heavy tank-like armor, she moves as fast as an in-shape human.
TEC: 3 - The field of an Assassin demands one be good at their job. She's pretty good at finding weak spots and taking full advantage of them.

Quote:Full name: Ra'Tima

Why Prime NPC?: Ra'Tima is an important and powerful figure from Skadi's story. While her temperament shifts like the sands, she has generally been an ally to the Lich. This being said, she's also always been a pretty good deal stronger than said Vampiric Necromancer and I'd like to keep that dynamic going.

Personal or Site?: Personal

Source: Original (Skyrim, technically speaking)

Appearance:

Personality: Sharp and sarcastic, she doesn't like to daddle around with people who have no interests in her wares.

Character History: Growing up an urchin, Ra'Tima quickly became deeply involved with her homeland's equivalent of a Thieve's Guild, though she did eventually start picking up various contracts from a shady organisation called The Dark Brotherhood. The hot desert sands and dusty badlands taught her how to be a cut throat merchant, thief and killer if needed. Eventually she established herself and began to lead her own band of thieves, quickly gaining control over her region and defending it with tooth and claw. Having had her guild thrive, she turned to setting up trading routes and leading several caravans through her country.

Possible Reactions: A smooth talker with a sharp wit, Ra'Tima can be fairly impatient at times if she feels like she's being played with or led on. Viewed as an experienced merchant and thief, she knows a good deal when she sees one and will always remember if someone tried to give her a raw deal. Having a short temper, she can often be blunt and want to cut straight to the point.

Combat Style: When she attacks, it's a storm of biting fangs and deeply gouging claws. She knows when to stop and fall back, smart enough to recognize that it is best to take a loss and live to fight another day. Usually she kills her attackers with little to no remorse, though every once in a while, she might spare one in order to spend a message.

Skills: A great thief and a notable merchant. Her words are like milk and honey to the weary. Having practiced for many years, she is an excellent pickpocket, lockpicker and a master in the arts of going unseen when she wishes to disappear.

Storyline: May the Sands be Sturdy Beneath Your Feet [aka: MtSbSBYF]

Moves:(600) Summon Bound Dagger (300); Summon Bound Bow (300) [APPROVAL]

Summon Bound Dagger (Physcial Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency) - 300

When cast, Bound Dagger equips an ethereal version of the Daedric Dagger for 120 seconds. After this the dagger 'evaporates' and must be resummoned. This is relatively powerful, but takes a full five seconds to summon. While summoning the dagger, the caster must use their full concentration, being unable to attack or defend during the five seconds- they may only move around at a walking pace. Summoning this dagger is moderately draining. Using this dagger is moderately draining on the caster's stamina.

When hit by this dagger, the target feels a sensation of creeping cold radiating out from the point of impact. The cold stiffens the muscles, acting like frost and slowing the target through fatigue. This effect gets more debilitating the more they are hit, starting out fairly weak with one strike and building up to it's maximum effect with seven strikes. At maximum, it can leave an opponent cold and tired feeling for 30 seconds after which they slowly gain their vigor back. If hit by less than seven strikes, the effect takes three seconds per strike to dissipate. Can stack with other frost-based debuffs.

Summon Bound Bow (Ranged Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency) - 300

When cast, Bound Bow equips an ethereal version of the Daedric Bow and 100 ethereal Daedric Arrows for 120 seconds. After this the bow and all arrows 'evaporate' and must be resummoned. This is relatively powerful, but takes a full five seconds to summon. While summoning the bow, the caster must use their full concentration, being unable to attack or defend during the five seconds- they may only move around at a walking pace. Summoning this bow is moderately draining. It requires both hands to use, and as such other moves may not be used simultaneously. Arrows launched from this bow fly at around 300 feet per second- the speed of the average arrow. It has a maximum effective range of ~100 meters. Caster can shoot a single arrow per six seconds, this includes the time it takes to nock, draw, aim and fire the arrow. Using this bow is moderately draining on the caster's stamina.

When hit by an arrow from this bow, the target feels a sensation of creeping cold radiating out from the point of impact. The cold stiffens the muscles, acting like frost and slowing the target through fatigue. This effect gets more debilitating the more arrows find their mark, starting out fairly weak with one arrow and building up to it's maximum effect with five strikes. At maximum, it can leave an opponent cold and tired feeling for 30 seconds after which they slowly gain their vigor back. If hit by less than five arrows, the effect takes three seconds per arrow to dissipate. Can stack with other frost-based debuffs.

Transformations:(1500) T2 Nocturn's Incarnate (1500) [APPROVAL]

Nocturn's Incarnate (Tier 2 Power Up) - 1500

Ra'Tima raises a charm of the Daedric Prince Nocturn to her lips and kisses it, typically saying a quiet blessing. The shadows of the surrounding area seem to move, leaping towards her position and covering her. After about two seconds has passed the shadows completely solidify into a full set of Nightingale armor. The armor is mainly just for appearances and doesn't protect her any better than her normal defenses, but it does however imbue her with Lady Nocturn's blessing, increasing her speed, skill and attack.

-+ Personality +-

Skadi prides herself on her mind, taking every opportunity to improve her knowledge, and this shows in the strength and flexibility of her strategic thinking. Insatiably curious and always up for an intellectual challenge, she can see things from many perspectives. She uses her creativity and imagination not so much for artistry, but for planning contingencies and courses of action for all possible scenarios.

She trusts her rationalism above all else, so when she does come to a conclusion, she has no reason to doubt her findings. This creates an honest, direct style of communication that isn’t held back by perceived social roles or expectations. When she is right, she’s right, and no amount of politicking or hand-holding is going to change that fact – whether it’s correcting a person, a process, or herself, she’d have it no other way.

This creativity, logic and confidence comes together to form an individual who stands on her own and takes responsibility for her own actions. Authority figures do not impress Skadi, nor do social conventions or tradition, and no matter how popular something is, if she has a better idea, she will stand against anyone she has to in a bid to have it changed. Either an idea is the most rational or it’s wrong, and she will apply this to her arguments as well as her own behavior, staying calm and detached from these sometimes emotionally charged conflicts. She will only be swayed by those who follow suit.

If something piques her interests, Skadi can be astonishingly dedicated to her work, putting in long hours and intense effort to see an idea through. She is incredibly efficient, and if tasks meet the criteria of furthering a goal, she will find a way to consolidate and accomplish those tasks. However, this drive for efficiency can also lead to a sort of elaborate laziness, wherein she’ll find ways to bypass seeming redundancies which don’t seem to require a great deal of thought – this can be risky, as sometimes double-checking one’s work is the standard for a reason.

All this rationalism leads to a very intellectually receptive person, as Skadi will stay open to new ideas, supported by logic, even if (and sometimes especially if) they prove her previous conceptions wrong. When presented with unfamiliar territory, such as alternate lifestyles, she will tend to apply her receptiveness and independence, and aversion to rules and traditions, to these new ideas as well, resulting in fairly liberal social senses.

Skadi is perfectly capable of carrying her confidence too far, falsely believing that she’s resolved all the pertinent issues of a matter and closing herself off to the opinions of those she believes to be intellectually inferior. Combined with her utter irreverence for social conventions, she can very often be brutally insensitive in making their opinions of others all too clear.

Because of this, Skadi tends to have complete confidence in her thought process, because rational arguments are almost by definition correct – at least in theory. In practice, emotional considerations and history are hugely influential, and a weak point for her is that she will often brand these factors and those who embrace them as illogical, dismissing them and considering her proponents to be stuck in some baser mode of thought, making it all but impossible to be heard.

Blindly following precedents and rules without understanding them is distasteful to her, and she disdains even more authority figures who blindly uphold those laws and rules without understanding the intent. Anyone who prefers the status quo for its own sake, or who values stability and safety over self-determination, is likely to clash with her in a very harsh manner. Whether it’s the law of the land or simple social convention, this aversion applies equally, often making life more difficult than it needs to be.

The very notion of emotional expression is synonymous with irrationality and weakness to her, a display of poor self-governance and fleeting opinion that can hardly stand up to the enduring light of factual truth.

Skadi takes pride in remaining rational and logical at all times, considering honesty and straightforward information to be paramount to euphemisms and platitudes in almost all circumstances. In many ways though, these qualities of coolness and detachment aren’t the weapons of truth that they appear to be, but are instead shields designed to protect the inner emotions that she does indeed feel. In fact, because her emotions are such an underdeveloped tool, she does often feel them more strongly than many overtly emotional people because she simply hasn’t learned how to control them effectively.

She tends to have set opinions about what works, what doesn’t, what she’s looking for, and what she’s not. These discriminating tastes can come across as arrogant, but she would simply argue that it’s a basic filtering mechanism that allows her to direct her attentions where they will do the most good. The fact is that in friendship, she’s looking for more of an intellectual soul mate than anything else, and those that aren’t prepared for that kind of relationship are simply boring. She feels a strong need to share ideas – a self-feeding circle of gossip about mutual friends is no kind of social life for her and as such she tends to distance herself from those sorts of environments.

Further, having more than just a few “friends” would compromise her deep rooted sense of independence and self-sufficiency – gladly giving up social validation to ensure this freedom. Skadi embraces this idea even with those who do fit into her social construct, requiring little attention or maintenance to remain on good terms, and encouraging that same independence in her contacts.

When it comes to emotional support, Skadi is a far cry from being a bastion of comfort. She actively suppresses her own emotions with shields of rationality and logic, and expects her social contacts to do the same. When emotionally charged situations do come about, she typically finds herself with literally no clue on how to handle them appropriately, a glaring contrast from her usual capacity for decisive self-direction and composure.

When she in her comfort zone though, among people she trusts and respects, she has no trouble relaxing and enjoying herself. Her sarcasm and dark humor are not for the faint of heart, nor for those who struggle to read between the lines, but she makes for fantastic story-telling among those who can keep up. It’s not easy to become good friends with Skadi. Rather than traditional rules of social conduct or shared routine, she has exacting expectations for intellectual prowess, uncompromising honesty and a mutual desire to grow and learn as sovereign individuals. She thinks of herself as gifted, bright and development-oriented, and expects her peers to share this attitude. Anyone falling short of this will be labeled a bore – anyone meeting these expectations will appreciate her of her own accord, forming a powerful and stimulating friendship that will stand the test of time.

Frostbite (Ranged Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency) - 300

Casting this spell instantly projects a continuous stream of white frost that moves at 2m/s, or the pace of a very brisk walk. The caster can reliably hit a target within a range of twenty feet as long as they can aim well enough. This spell takes concentration to use, and the caster must actively focus on aiming. Any attack that can break concentration can cause this spell to end. The user may move while using Frostbite, however any sudden jarring movement is likely to end their concentration. The stream of frost is three feet across at maximum. Using this for extended periods of time (>15 seconds) can wear the caster out fast, as it is moderately draining per each second it's used. It slows enemies down via fatigue while doing light damage. The effect causes a chill and fatigue that increases the longer the target is being hit.

If continuously hit by this beam for six seconds, the target will become frozen where hit (such as an arm or leg, if that is where the stream is aimed) for two full seconds. After this time has passed, all effects dissipate over the course of two seconds. If the target was only partially hit they do not become frozen, and instead only suffer from a chill and fatigue proportional to the time spent in the stream (1:1, with half the total time being spent as the effect lessening/ending). Can stack with other frost-based debuffs.

-+ A Quick History +-
Really, a very incredibly brief overview of Skadi's pre-Omniverse History

Quote:Skadi was born and raised in Skyrim, though she did travel a great deal during her life. After getting nearly executed- but escaping- in Helgen, she rejoined her Dark Brotherhood associates. Climbing the ranks, she found that she was the Listener, a long empty rank within the Brotherhood. After assassinating the Emperor, and the contractor who sent her on the job, she took control of the Brotherhood. Hurt by the betrayal of Astrid, she found herself happier wandering the lands of Skyrim.

She gets summoned by the Greybeards and sent through a medley of quests and other various happenstances that allow her to grow her power as the foretold "Dragonborn". This only causes her more issues as she gets attacked by cultists who angrily insist that killing her is the only way to pay respect back to their leader for her claims of being a "false" Dragonborn. Understandably unhappy, she kills the cultist and tracks down their homeland, being lead to the island of Solstheim: a miserable land of snow and ash, forgotten ruins and collapsing mines.

She finds out that their leader has been reaching out from some plane of Oblivion to mind control several inhabitants of the island into building shines to channel power back to him. Not in the mood to deal with this, she attempts to confront him, only to be knocked on her ass and heckled for the longest time through the theft of dragon souls. Tired of Miraak's shit, she becomes Herma-Mora's new champion in order to best him. Realizing his defeat, he offers to teach her all he knows should she spare him. She takes him up on this offer and learns from him, pretty much giving ol' Herma-Mora the middle finger.

She learns from him for a year, and when she figures out that he can teach her no more, she shanks him in the kidney and leaves him to the Daedric Prince of forbidden knowledge. She then finds Deathbrands armor and proceeds to return to Skyrim.

Only to be approached by the leader of the Dawngaurd and asked to look into an ancient crypt known for vampire activity as soon as she stepped onto the docks of Windhelm. She agrees because 'sure why not', but puts off the quest to study at the college and chase down the ancient lost writing of Shalindor. From this she gets drug to Sarthal where she has a mystical mind meld with a Psijic Monk and finds the Eye of Magnus. Soon enough though, the Thalmor assholeAdvisor at the college decides that he wanted to be god and goes banana apeshit crazy, trying to control the Eye itself. She and a few of the teachers best Arcano, and she sets off to finally investigate that crypt.

Only to be stopped by a highly intricate and unexpected invasion of the twisted Falmer. This guerrilla war sets her back several months, and has her joining into the stormcloak army to help push back the suddenly smart buggers. Halfway through this war, however, she sneaks away to the crypt she's been trying to investigate for months now.

Upon killing the various bandits and bloodsuckers inhabiting said ruins, she investigates a strange alter like device which only serves to stab her through the hand and use her blood to awaken the daughter of the first vampire.

She returns the daughter to the vampire heartland, gladly taking Lord Harkon up on his offer to make her into a full blooded vampire (mainly over having having the hots for said daughter). Due to this crush, she continues to help out the vampires. She has a decently hard time finding a moth priest and must hunt down two more Elder Scrolls, do a "prissy moth dance" and read the two scrolls herself and visit the realm of those bound to soul gems to find the Vampire-Mother. Following this she is sent through the last known sanctuary of the original Falmer to get the Bow of Auriel.

She returns to Vampire-Father with the bow and isn't all too shocked when he betrays her. With Serana's and Seeks-Many-Star's help, she slays the traitor and becomes the new Lady of the Volkihar Court. She decides that it would be smart to engage in a war and smite the Dawngaurd from the face of Nirn, and does so seeing as they are a fringe faction with little to no strong allies.

Eventually she joins the side of the Stormcloaks in the horrific civil war. She, unlike many others, did not join for the politics or religious beliefs. With her prowess on the battle field as a caster and summoner, and as she soon find out, her natural talent with the Thu'um, she turns the tide of the war from stalemate to victory. Following the victory, she is promoted to head of the Stormcloak forces. With this power, she assassinates High King Ulfric, gathers the combined forces of Skyrim, and rages a full blown extermination war against the Falmer.

She takes the seat of the High Queen by force, only to be heckled even more by Alduin. (Jeeze, can she ever get a break?) Annoyed by this, she takes herself to Sovngarde to best him once and for all- or at least, to the best of her knowledge and ability.

Having a long list of achievements behind her, people begin to worship her. She drives this with an Iron fist, believing that she is the chosen, a god by her own right. She curses the sun, turning it into a gaping black hole and turning the sky blood red. She has brought Nirn unto the reign of the Vampires, and this is where Omni summons her.
